"Cross Country team had another great day at the races at Newhall Park on September 17th. The varsity team came away with a win in a very competitive field behind massive efforts from seniors Jake Swanson in 15th and Brandon Moreno in 18th. Sophomore Chase Cressman, junior Jonah Reynolds and sophomore Robson Fuentes kept Jesuit ahead of North Coast powerhouse Campolindo by a mere 6 points and top-ranked Palo Alto of the Central Coast by 10. Freshman Isaac Abbott and sophomore George Srabian helped keep the Marauders on top of a 40-team field.
The JV team also won their 5K race getting 4 guys in the top 20 led by sophomore Brady Blum in 4th (17:47), junior Walid Hijazi in 8th (17:55), Navin Kadel in 15th (17:59) and James Randall in 18th (18:08). Senior Marcos Lopez (18:22) and juniors Ty Ross (18:44) and Mason Strawn (18:48) helped the JV boys win with 57 points over Dublin and Los Altos. With six freshmen and sophomores running in JV/Varsity, the Frosh-Soph team still managed to place 7th out of 26 teams over 2 miles behind sophomore Kai Switlick (12:17) and freshmen Nick Ryan (12:23), George Vlahos (12:37), Aaron Beasley (12:37) and Jackson Johns (12:37). Fellow frosh Jaypal Reddy (12:42) and sophomore Tyler Thies (12:47) rounded out the top 7 for the Marauders."
