On February 11th, 2023, Jesuit Varsity wrestlers competed at this years Sac-Joaquin Section (SJS) D1 Divisional Championship at Tokay High School in Lodi with the goal of qualifying for the SJS Masters Championship being held at the Stockton Arena on February 17th & 18th, 2023.
The top five varsity wrestlers in each weight class from the three SJS Leagues (Delta, Sierra Foothill & Tri-City Athletic Leagues) competed at this years D1 Divisional Championship. To qualify for the SJS Masters Championship, wrestlers must place in the top 8 of their respective weight classes across all 21 high schools in the SJS Division.
We are excited to announce that out of the twelve Jesuit Varsity Wrestlers who qualified, five of our Marauders will be moving on to compete in the prestigious SJS Masters Championship next weekend. Grant Anderson '24 placed 3rd, Oliver Uniza '25 placed 4th, Jayden Weathersbee '23 placed 6th, Logan Nguyen '25 placed 7th, and Joseph Matella '23, placed 8th in their respective weight classes.
