This past weekend showcased impressive performances by the Jesuit High School wrestling team at both the Zinkin Invitational and the Marty Manges Invite. At the Zinkin Invitational, Grant Anderson exhibited his skills and determination, securing a commendable 5th place. Logan Nguyen faced tough competition, winning two matches and putting up a valiant effort in his other matches. The Marty Manges Invite witnessed standout performances in various weight classes, notably in the 120-pound category where Pierre Laborde-lagrave showcased his prowess. Laborde-lagrave secured a 5th-place finish, contributing significantly to the team's overall success.
The 150-pound weight class featured two Jesuit wrestlers, with Zachary Semon finishing 6th and Diego Murrieta winning one match. Despite challenges, both athletes displayed resilience and determination throughout the competition. Tanner Shelton, competing in the 165-pound category, demonstrated exceptional skills, securing three victories.
Meanwhile, at the Whitney JV Classic, Jesuit's junior varsity wrestlers also made their mark. Campbell McDowell, Jacob Lerma, and Lorenzo Mabalot achieved 2nd place, while Owen Groves earned a respectable 3rd place. Maximilian Troppmann and Henry Sperber emerged as champions in their respective weight classes, showcasing the depth of talent within the Jesuit wrestling program. These results underscore the dedication and hard work put in by the Jesuit wrestlers, reflecting positively on the team's overall performance.
