Two Jesuit freshman cross-country runners earned all-state recognition by PrepCal Track based on their 2023 season performances. Matthew Ogilvie earned recognition on the Freshmen Boys All-State and Division 2 Freshmen Boys All-State teams. He emerged as the top 9th grader in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, shining in pivotal championship races — league, sectionals, and state. His standout performance culminated in the season finale, clocking an impressive 15:52.8 at the Division 2 state meet.
Meanwhile, Rafael Jopson secured a well-deserved spot in the Division 2 Freshmen Boys All-State team. His remarkable times include 17:08.1 at the CIF-Sac Joaquin Section Finals at Willow Hill Reservoir (a notably slower course), 16:51.4 at the Clovis Invitational, and 17:23 at the FootLocker West Regional at Mt. SAC’s 5k course.
